Poetry, chapbook, 28 pages, from Bottlecap Features.

Incognito is a collection of poetry that explores themes of abandonment and loss, navigating adolescence and womanhood with an absent parent. The poet laments her father through striking imagery and experimentation in poetry, allowing us an insight into the consequences and therefore implications of growing up with a hole missing from life. Not knowing your favourite tv show or how your voice would say my name, she touches on the simplest of interactions one often takes for granted but does so in a way that rips your heart from your chest.

The collection was born from heartache and unanswered questions. The lingering presence of rejection that felt like a weight on the chest having missed out on the other half that made her a whole.

Incognito is human. It’s raw. It’s the inner child asking, why did you walk away from me?
