The world in many ways requests a return, or an answer. The concept behind these poems was born while on a hike. A friend with me stopped and stared back into the forest, and said we missed seeing something. The forest called us back. We never found what it was. I carried that idea forward for years in life and writing.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp align=\"justify\"\u003eThese poems shouldn’t be mistaken for nostalgia, they are not a looking back. They are an acknowledgment of, and a seeking for the small things, the minutiae. They seek the answers to questions I sometimes did not know I had. These poems are my questions for the world. Consider them an invocation. They await their own call-back.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp align=\"justify\"\u003eSam Calhoun is the author of six chapbooks, and co-author of a collaborative collection, \u003cem\u003eThe  Hemlock Poems\u003c\/em\u003e (Present Tense Media). Nominated for the Pushcart and Best of the Net awards, his work can be found in numerous journals and anthologies, and has been displayed as broadsides in museums and art galleries as part of Wild Alabama’s “Conversation Through Art” project. He frequently features on WLRH’s radio broadcast The Sundial Writer’s Corner.
