Poetry, chapbook, 28 pages, from Bottlecap Features.
A Walk Through Grief is an honest, uncut, and hard-to-swallow attempt at healing and reflection, from being smacked in the face with the weight of responsibility to learning what loss means for the soul. It is Forhad Rahman’s debut chapbook and a culmination of silent prayers and invisible tears – enough to fill any hospital room.
While much of this work was written in the quiet corners of a Bronx apartment, there are pockets of reflection found when surrounded by the chatter of family or the bustle of a public train. After all, grief does not approach us only in solitude. This chapbook takes hold of the reader’s hand and guides them along a journey of that exact grief. It is the strongest reminder that love and loss is not a straight line.
