The Cattle is Yusra Usmani’s first poetry collection. Stretching the power of imagery to its full capability through both prose and traditional forms of poetry, the reader will find themselves intrigued by its unique language.

The Cattle follows the lives of a crowd representing the undifferentiated, chaotic, and potential state of being. Disorder is used as a tool, and emphasis is placed on sensation rather than logic. As a biographical story told through symbols which build off of and interact with each other, this collection sits precariously on the threshold between dream and reality.
