Poetry, chapbook, 36 pages, from Bottlecap Features.

In this chapbook Dan Dorman explores freedom from constraint and the transformative expanse found by “crossing the line.” These short poems are the result of a visual experiment, in which the poet shapes verbal lines to compliment, cling to, or contrast printed lines. In confronting the line, it appears the only freedom is in ignoring it.

Exploring creativity, personal evolution, and complimentary opposites, this collection expresses the malleable human spirit as the poet comes to a metamorphic conclusion about their life and art. Slipping away from drawn lines and what they represent, Dorman also makes a statement in support of a visual poetry that is both meaningful and active on the page.

Dan Dorman is a visual poet based in Northeast Ohio. He holds an MFA in creative writing and wanders as a freelance teacher. A list of previous publications can be found at his website, dandorman.com/publications. Other work can be viewed @dan_dorman_us.
