Poetry, chapbook, 36 pages, from Bottlecap Features.

Laura Salvatore’s debut collection, Dreamscape, explores womanhood in the digital age, rooted in her Queens, NYC community. Her poems explore the dynamic between self and society, revealing how external experiences shape identity. With discerning insight, she uncovers intimacy in everyday moments quiet rituals, fleeting exchanges, and subtle rage. Her poems explore how reflections on the exterior world can inform the interior understanding of self.

At its core, this collection meditates on embodiment—the exhilaration and vulnerability of being seen. Through stark imagery and sharp introspection, Salvatore examines individuality versus cultural standards, revealing identity as both personal and communal. Her poetry doesn’t just observe life; it makes us feel it.

Laura Salvatore is a poet living in Queens, New York. She received her MFA at The City College of New York. Laura was a fellow for the Zip Code Memory Project and has been a work study scholar for the Poetry By the Sea conference. She also participated in the micro residency Poets Afloat. She is the creator and curator of the reading series Poetry at Sunnyside Arts. Her poetry can be found in Movable Type, The Marbled Sigh, and The Queens Review, amongst others.
