Poetry, chapbook, 28 pages, from Bottlecap Features.

A High Lonesome Sound weaves a narrative of Laura Jeu’s childhood spent on a dirt road in Virginia through the tune of old Appalachian tradition. Combining elements of her Pennsylvania Dutch background and Korean American ancestry, Laura’s poetry includes themes of adolescent awareness, adulthood anguish, and the restorative power of retrospection.

Laura Jeu grew up in Virginia and Pennsylvania with unshakable influences from her Korean and Pennsylvania Dutch ancestors. Through her work and advocacy, she hopes to amplify the voices of LGBTQIA+ people and BIPOC individuals in rural communities. She currently resides in the Appalachian region with her dog, Scout. They trek up and down mountains.
