Poetry, chapbook, 20 pages, from Bottlecap Features.
Earth Angels is composed of twelve short poems that explore the connections between nature and being. This is a theme recurring within and inspired by other works of Collins: that intense instinct and calling to the dirt, the trees.
At odds with stating things outright, these poems are written like songs– meant to focus first on the sound and rhythm, then use the text as a means of making sense of the piece. Through young love and loss, firsts and lasts, Collins explores the complexities that have been created for us and by us. Just one more attempt at making sense of things.
