Poetry, chapbook, 48 pages, from Bottlecap Features.
Easy Does It explores the theme of memory as a portal to self-discovery and future becoming, tracing the lines into the past as a dream-like endeavor. This work explores identity through its often incongruent and comical moments in parenthood, marriage, and being human. Themes of queer family life, feminism, spirituality, and motherhood intersect to create an experience of depth and hilarity. This collection shines with spiritual reflections, societal commentary, and bares its soul for the reader to join a friend in question and wonder alike.
Its memoir-like approach blends fantasy and reality to pursue truth. The work ends with a section of One Breath poems that are bite size and delightful morsels to chew on throughout the day. This is a binge-worthy, accessible, and generous chapbook that everyone can see a bit of themselves in.
