Poetry, chapbook, 24 pages, from Bottlecap Features.

Spatterings is a discrete sampling of poems written over forty years. The subjects range from the personal to the universal.

First love, our magical and political lives, and how we manage grief and loss. Perhaps best read aloud, these poems seem to breathe more fully with sound. Often grounded in the everyday, relatable bits of life, with a twist of humor, playful sound, and sincere thoughtfulness, the author attempts to make sense of her world.

Lise Kunkel lives in Belfast, Maine. She is a writer, a retired hospice nurse, and an avid hiker. She writes poetry, short fiction, and memoir, often centering on loss. Her poems have appeared in several health care spaces including A Call to Nursing, the Kaplan Voices textbook (2009), Oncology Times, as well as Lake Effect Magazine, and The Midcoast Poetry Journal.
