Part museum tour, part speculative autofiction, all poetry: Fuzzy Slippers: An Alternate Timeline explores the gravitational pull of partnership and parenthood. It has poems on butterflies, wine books, model trains, a roller coaster, Jane Austen screen adaptations, and the Hall of Minerals at the American Museum of Natural History. Each exerts an influence over a woman’s path to choosing and making a family.

Piper Rasmussen (she/her) is a Manhattan-based poet and nonprofit data person. Her writing has appeared in Rust & Moth, Kyoto Journal, orangepeel, Shot Glass Journal, and other literary magazines, as well as in place-based poetry anthology Writing the Land: Horizons. Her plays have been performed in Ohio, Oregon, and New York. Piper holds a BA in Theatre from Barnard College and an MFA in Creative Writing from Queens University of Charlotte.
