Poetry, chapbook, 24 pages, from Bottlecap Features.

The poems in If It’s True move between observation and reflection, each piece questioning point of view and perception. At times the details pile up and ask the reader, What do you make of this? At other times the observations ask, Is this what happened? Is this true? One poem confesses a fear of animals, another questions memory, and a few delight in testing what words do, how language functions. Direct, precise, and at times funny, If It’s True is insightful and sly.

Together the poems form a collage that is intimate, energetic, and attentive to the ways we perceive, remember, and make sense of the world. The work is intimate and expansive, serious and sly, offering a sharp-eyed, linguistically aware look at how we think, remember, and navigate the unexpected moments of life.

April Krassner is a writer living in Bridgeport, Ct. Her work has appeared in print and online in over a dozen publications including Anderbo, Eunoia, Paragraph Planet, and Star82 Review.
