The poems in If It’s True move between observation and reflection, each piece questioning point of view and perception. At times the details pile up and ask the reader, What do you make of this? At other times the observations ask, Is this what happened? Is this true? One poem confesses a fear of animals, another questions memory, and a few delight in testing what words do, how language functions. Direct, precise, and at times funny, If It’s True is insightful and sly.
