Wading in My Thoughts is Sierra A. Fisher’s first chapbook where she reflects on cyclical themes of time and emotions. This chapbook is written in a traditional haiku format of 5-7-5; this style best captures the fleeting moments that thoughts occupy. The poems are reflective of Sierra’s current environment; her life has slowed down enough for reflection. Her hope is that the reflection that occurs in this chapbook will guide her and those who read it away from their past and step into the blank canvas of their future.
Sierra A. Fisher has always had a passion for storytelling but many life detours did not allow for the space for her creative pursuits to develop. In 2024 a writer’s retreat to Italy ignited a spark that had been dormant for many years. Wading In My Thoughts was written over the course of one week; Sierra did not want to edit the honesty that first touched the page. Sierra will continue to use poetry to direct and inspire those around her.
Sierra A. Fisher is an emerging writer whose poetry and essays explore the quiet intersections of memory, emotion, and the human experience.A registered nurse by day, she brings compassion and attentiveness from her work with patients into her creative process. She lives in Maryland, where she balances the demands of nursing with the quiet discipline of writing, always searching for the next sentence that will stir something true. As she continues to shape her literary voice, her work invites readers into a space of honesty, empathy, and quiet transformation.
