These Stories Are Catching, by Coleman Bigelow

Prose, chapbook, 36 pages, from Bottlecap Features.

An infertile couple goes fishing for a child. A widower plays catch with his ghost dog. A witch practices tennis on her neighbor’s court. Each of the game-themed stories within These Stories Are Catching takes the reader on a roller-coaster ride, reminding us that all of life is a game, and that the best games require a partner.

Complete with ten original stories, this chapbook explores what we’re playing for, even when there’s no chance to win. Or when winning means losing. Or when the game is just the precursor to love.
