These 12 poems show the heartache of feeling alone and not finding your place. Having been disappointed by not only friends but family too. I lost a piece of my heart when my biological father passed away, but I also knew I was better off without him. Losing my best friend and feeling the hole in my heart grow bigger. Never feeling like the first option when all you wanted was to feel loved.
Having anxiety at such a young age caused me to grow up quickly. These poems talk about what it’s like to grow up in a world where you truly are on your own. Finding comfort with nature and that your anxiety sometimes does define you.
Growing up in her hometown, Maygin was drawn to the calm beauty of the fields full of flowers and where wild strawberries grew. Running through the field with her dog, something so peaceful about nature made her feel at home. Wondering questions she had for nature ignited her passion for biology. Hoping one day she can share it through her love of poetry. Now, she is majoring in secondary education with a concentration in life science.
