Poetry, chapbook, 48 pages, from Bottlecap Features.
THE PULSE OF WOVEN THREADS explores womanhood through myth, inheritance, community, and legacy. Structured in thematic panels reminiscent of a quilt, each poem functions as a single thread within a larger design. Together, they form a tapestry of voices and experiences that honor both rupture and repair, revealing the patterns that bind individuals across generations.
Through lyrical and symbolic language, this collection examines what it means to exist within inherited structures while imagining life beyond them. Several poems incorporate visual techniques where typography becomes an extension of meaning, reinforcing themes of invisibility, confinement, and endurance. Moving between the personal and collective, readers are invited to reflect on how the fabric of identity is continuously woven, one thread at a time.
Darcy Lee’s writing explores womanhood, inheritance, and the patterns that shape lived experience. She is the author of The Heart of Auschwitz (Goldmann/PRH, 2025), inspired by her grandparents’ survival story and published internationally in multiple languages. Her poetry has appeared or is forthcoming in The Dead Mule, the Academy of the Heart and Mind, and the anthology Madam President (B Cubed Press, 2024). Outside of writing, she can be found traveling and searching for good chocolate along the way.
