Poetry, chapbook, 24 pages, from Bottlecap Features.

The With-You Season is a collection of poetry about aging, everyday moments, seen objects with unseen consequences, desire, love, cups of coffee, sobriety, and changing seasons. These ordinary moments and objects are a wry and intimate look at the messiness of life and its outcomes on life lived with other people. This collection of poems enters the poet’s world and explores familiar settings with an intimate voice while examining what stays with you, when everything will eventually change.

At once tender, keen, and unsentimental, The With-You Season explores love not as a single grand event or gesture but as small acts: folding sheets, sitting on a couch, grieving, arguing, and growing older. Moving through rooms of faith, domesticity, desire, and loss, Jennifer Nachtwey’s poems linger in the rooms where gratitude and impermanency meet.
