Poetry, chapbook, 36 pages, from Bottlecap Features.

This chapbook is a character study. Dindi grew up in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. The poems reflect on her youth but they branch out into her life as an adult. Work takes up much of her life, hard long days at a diner.

And love. She tries to figure out who she is, what she wants. Her conclusions are often tentative, changeable, like sun or shadow on a fallen leaf. Her voice can sound ironic, even arch. She wants to unpack herself, her identity, but doesn’t think she has all of the needed information to do so.

Kenneth Pobo (he/his) began writing in 1970, aping the lyrics to songs like “Crystal Blue Persuasion” by Tommy James. He’s been writing ever since, mostly poetry but some flash fiction, too. Recent books include It’s Me, Dulcet Tones (Half Inch Press), At The Window, Silence (Fernwood Press), and It Gets Dark So Soon Now (Broken Tribe Press). His work has appeared in North Dakota Quarterly, Mudfish, Nimrod, and elsewhere.
