Sara didn’t know she needed running. But when the young mother and freelance writer starts training for a marathon relay, she’s hooked. She finds time, between changing diapers and play dates, to run out the door in 30-minute increments a few times a week. For two decades she keeps it up, running the same path in the same neighborhood as her children grow, her writing evolves, and her perspective expands.
Sara J. Sobota is a writer based in Myrtle Beach, S.C. She holds an M.F.A. in nonfiction from the Bennington Writing Seminars.
