Poetry, chapbook, 16 pages, from Bottlecap Features.
Lament for St. Roch is the third chapbook from Philadelphia-based poet Kaitlyn Buhrman. Written between 2015 and 2023, this collection is a compilation of day-dreams, threads of memory, a game of pool with a younger self, a focaccia recipe, and a lobster on benzos.
These poems touch the way it feels when you start to fall in love with someone new. They are about coming back to yourself after a period of internal wilderness. They’re about the tension between the longing to wander and the instinct to stay.
Kaitlyn Buhrman is a poet and tattoo artist from Philadelphia. She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in writing from Savannah College of Art and Design in 2015 and has published two other collections of poetry: Half Born, and Exaltation of a Barmaid.
