Poetry, chapbook, 24 pages, from Bottlecap Features.
November is a collection of poems that started as a question; would Amber and her father —who was born and passed away in November—still have a relationship if he were alive? She imagines a world where that is possible, but through her examination of other relationships in her life she realizes that the answer isn’t that simple.
But November isn’t all darkness. Alongside questions of self doubt, developing a chronic illness, generational trauma, and the terrifying state of the world, there is a love story unfolding. A person who creates a place filled with the smell of bread and sounds of music to examine it all.
Amber is a scientist working in public health and holds a Master’s degree in Biology. Her contributions can be found in Nature Communications and Science Advances. She loves reading non-fiction, literary fiction, and poetry. She shares her works at local open mics and this is her first chapbook.
