Prose, chapbook, 32 pages, from Bottlecap Features.
There was a time before Fax Toltha knew her first magicks, her first alckemies, or even how to wield a blade halfway decent. Before she was an agent of the Shieldom of Cairn. Before the Lord of Laughter, and The Mastiff, and The Witch Carousel. Before she saw the evil of her doings and renounced her ways far too late.
There was a time before the City of the Forty-Eight God lay in ruins.
This is Holden Arquilevich’s first Fax Toltha story. He was especially inspired by Michael Moorcock’s Elric of Melniboné to create his own Sword & Sorcery character. This is a story from Fax Toltha’s youth. It is the story of how sorcery, which had been but a trickle into the cup of her life up to this point, now became a flood, and sent her soul awash into places unknown.
