Prose, chapbook, 32 pages, from Bottlecap Features.
An up and coming model stumbles through life blitzed on free alcohol and mommy issues, soaking up city life and her reprieve from her rural upbringing, until the facade she’s built comes crashing down and a violent stalker begins to target her. A rebellious teenage girl and her friend devise a plan to sneak away to an underground goth show, but when they’re muddled down by a tagalong little sister, a beater of a truck, and a shady stranger, things take a turn for the monstrous.
Poseur’s Punishment is gritty and unrelenting. This collection of two transgressive short stories is a study in subculture, voyeurism, familial strains, and the horror of being a young woman.
