In its brevity, Quietus is an inner excavation of the subconscious, explored throughout a compilation of 13 fragmentary poems. It is a syntax-bending record of repressed rage, grief, limerence, absurdity, nihilism, and spirituality.

This work blends candidness with cryptic imagery as the reader is made privy to the compulsions, unraveling, and quietude of a decade of reclusion and inner work. Quietus marks the death of an era, a cycle, and the hopeful beginning of a new one.

Kelly Welcher is a monastic creature of noise and alchemy. She resides in St. Louis, Missouri. This is her first chapbook and published work.
