Poetry, chapbook, 24 pages, from Bottlecap Features.

In The Salt of the Geologic World, Browne ranges across a landscape of fascinations—communication, memory, rivers, snakes, birds, desire, and the nature of /you/—like a retriever might, loving the world and, slavering, fetching it back to the reader.

The poems in this collection were produced in an ongoing project honoring the spirit (if not the purity of form) of Kenneth Rexroth’s translations in 100 Poems from the Japanese. These short-form, nature-bound poems of longing aspire to be passed between recognizing, familiar hands.

Jennifer Browne falls in love easily with other people’s dogs. Her chapbook Whisper Song was released by tiny wren publishing in 2023, and her poems have recently appeared in the Poem for Cleveland anthology, the Women of Appalachia Project's Women Speak 15th Anniversary Volume, South Broadway Ghost Society, One Sentence Poems, and Beltway Poetry Quarterly. She lives in Frostburg, MD.
