Prose poetry, chapbook, 44 pages, from Bottlecap Features.

A surreal vision of confinement, four walls, four towers follows the increasingly unhinged outlook of a Londoner working from home during the pandemic.

Determined not to let the crisis interfere with his violent pursuit of workplace domination, while surviving isolation in a high-rent, low-space London flat, his climb to the top begins to assume ever more destructive and manic forms.

Into this disintegrating psychological and physical space emerges a demonic creature, an otherworldly friend-enemy urging him on to greater glory, psychological excess and self-destruction.

Alex Aspden is a writer who lives and works in London. He was previously shortlisted for the Bridport Short Story Prize and his work has appeared in numerous publications. four walls, four towers is his first chapbook.
