Poetry, chapbook, 28 pages, from Bottlecap Features.

What The Sky Looked Like Before weaves a tale of what it’s like to grow up in a girl body under a judgmental, patriarchal, capitalist world. Learning about one’s ancestors, mourning the loss of things from childhood: innocence, healthy weather, and more. And radical self-acceptance growing into who one is when that means going against the grain.

Molly Likovich (she/her) is a self-proclaimed gothic leading lady and Beetlejuice scholar. Her poems have appeared in numerous publications including Bloodlust Magazine, Dialogue, and Quilted Verse. In 2023 she won Second Place in the Auvert Magazine Orange Skies Poetry Contest and was a Finalist in The Nation’s National Amateur Poetry Contest. She is the co-author of the poetry collections Not a Myth and The Willow’s Silence alongside Marcia Ruiz-Olguín, and her solo poetry collection Party Trick was an online bestseller. When she’s not writing existential poems about life she’s penning spicy romance novels about ladies and monsters.
